Paula Deas

Paula Deas is a Scottish artist whose work is shaped by the changing coastlines and waters of Scotland’s East Coast. Working primarily in oils on canvas, she uses palette knives and brushes to build richly textured surfaces that capture movement, atmosphere and the shifting character of the landscape.

Drawn to deeper, more subdued tones, Deas creates moody seascapes and landscapes that reflect the wildness of the natural world. From changing tides and restless shorelines to the quieter movement of lochs, her paintings explore water as something constantly in motion — fluid, powerful and never quite the same twice.
