Stuart Nicol

Stuart was born, and has lived most of his life in Edinburgh.

Having been a draughtsman for many years it seemed a natural progression to sketch drawings (mainly portraits) for commissions received. This continued to be a hobby that was capable of paying its way.

Then suddenly, 35 years later, Covid 19 caused Stuart to reevaluate his life...  and bank balance. With time on his side he picked up a brush, and started painting. With no barriers, he has enjoyed painting an eclectic variety of subjects in pencil, acrylic, water colour and oil, on paper, stretched canvas, canvasboard, aluminium, and brass.

Looking forward to a bright today, with a brighter tomorrow.
