Sheana Stephen D.A.

Sheana Stephen D.A. is one of Scotland's most respected jewellers, with a career spanning more than five decades. A graduate of Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, she has become renowned for creating exquisitely crafted jewellery inspired by flowers, gardens, the textures of the sea and shore, and the places she has travelled.

Working primarily in silver and gold, often incorporating pearls and semi-precious stones, Sheana's pieces combine exceptional craftsmanship with a quiet elegance. Alongside her jewellery practice, she has undertaken numerous prestigious commissions, including a brooch for Her Majesty The Queen, a pectoral cross for the Bishop of Edinburgh, and work for the Scottish Geological Society, the Paisley Art Institute and the Royal College of Physicians.

Beyond jewellery, Sheana has played an important role in Scotland's artistic and cultural life. Through her longstanding involvement with St Giles' Cathedral and The Thistle Quilters, she has designed and created many of the cathedral's celebrated liturgical banners, bringing together her background in textiles with her lifelong commitment to craftsmanship. She has also served as President of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists and Vice President of the Scottish Society of Women Artists.

Today, Sheana continues to exhibit widely, creating distinctive jewellery that celebrates the beauty of the natural world while reflecting a lifetime dedicated to making beautiful objects with care, skill and imagination.
