Collection: Sarah Anderson

Sarah Anderson is a Scottish landscape painter whose work is inspired by the dramatic beauty of Scotland's west coast, as well as the woodland, moorland and coastline of her native Galloway. She graduated with an M.A. (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Edinburgh in 1999, and a successful degree show launched her professional painting career.

Working primarily in oils from her studio in Edinburgh, Sarah captures the ever-changing light, weather and atmosphere that define the Scottish landscape. Rich colour, expressive paint surfaces and a strong sense of place are central to her work, with recurring themes including mountains, shorelines, trees and the city of Edinburgh. Her paintings seek to immerse the viewer in the mood and atmosphere of the landscape while balancing simplicity of form with painterly energy.

Sarah has been recognised as one of the "ten most exciting contemporary Scottish artists to collect," and her evocative paintings continue to be sought after by collectors across the UK.
