Collection: Rona Kant

Rona developed her passion for painting after moving from Glasgow to the Highlands of Scotland in 2000. Inspired by the majestic surroundings of the Cairngorms National Park, where she lives, she began working in acrylics to capture the ever-changing light and the intense, vibrant colours that define her work today.

Continual creative development is central to Rona’s practice. She is constantly exploring new techniques and processes, which has led to an expansion of her repertoire to include oil painting alongside her established acrylic work.

Before relocating to the Highlands, Rona worked as an interior designer. She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a First Class Honours degree in Interior Design, and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Furniture Design and Technology at Brunel University. This strong design background underpins her distinctive style, evident in the bold compositions and graphic quality of her paintings.

Rona began painting professionally on a part-time basis in 2016, and has since dedicated much of her time to commissioned work and preparing for exhibitions. She has exhibited widely across Scotland and continues to build a strong presence within the contemporary Scottish art scene.

Her work is held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, the USA, Australia, South Africa, and Canada.
