Allison Young

A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, she completed her BA with First Class Honours in 1988 before undertaking a postgraduate diploma the following year. In 1991, she was awarded a British Council Scholarship to study for a year in Łódź, Poland, an experience that broadened and enriched her artistic practice.

Her career has included a number of notable residencies, including Artist in Residence at Edinburgh Zoo in 2001 and a month-long residency at WASPS Artists’ Studios in Scalloway, Shetland, in 2010.

She is currently based at WASPS Studios in Haymarket, Edinburgh, and exhibits widely throughout Scotland and in London.
