About the Torrance Gallery
Contemporary Art in Edinburgh Since 1970
The Heritage
Founded in 1970, The Torrance Gallery was the first gallery dedicated to contemporary art on Dundas Street in Edinburgh’s New Town. Today the street is home to many of the city’s leading independent galleries.
In 2019 the gallery passed to Fiona McCrindle, founder of The Edinburgh Drawing School and EDS Gallery. Under her leadership, the gallery was named Overall Winner in the Best Independent Gallery category of the 2021 Prestige Awards Scotland.
A New Chapter
In March 2026, Antonio and Adam took the reins, bringing new energy and vision to the gallery while honouring its rich heritage. They are committed to presenting affordable contemporary art, introducing new voices, and keeping the gallery a dynamic hub for collectors and art lovers alike.
