Collection: Paul Jenkins

Paul Jenkins is renowned for his expressive ceramic animal sculptures, inspired by careful observation of wildlife and the character of the natural world. Working in clay, he captures movement and personality in pieces that feel both lively and timeless.

Each sculpture is handcrafted and fired using the traditional raku firing technique. The piece is first bisque fired, then glazed and fired again before undergoing a dramatic final firing in a specially designed raku kiln. The hot sculpture is removed from the kiln and treated to create the distinctive crackled glaze and rich carbon markings that define raku ceramics.

Because of this process, every sculpture is completely unique. Variations in colour, crackle and surface pattern mean no two pieces can ever be identical.

Taking several weeks to complete, Paul Jenkins’ raku sculptures are individual works of art that celebrate both the beauty of animals and the unpredictability of this remarkable ceramic tradition.
