Collection: Peter Foyle

Peter graduated from St Martin’s School of Art, London in 1986 with a BA(Hons) Graphic Design. He worked as a freelance illustrator for magazines and book publishers for a few years before opening a framers and art gallery in Troon, on the west coast of Scotland. He and his wife have successfully run this for almost thirty years, meanwhile building up a reputation as an artist, painting in a bright and sparkling Impressionist style.

Working mainly in oils, Peter enjoys painting a variety of subjects; from the wet streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh, old croft cottages and coastal scenes to sun-dappled Provence and Venice as well as still-life subjects.  In each, Peter endeavours to catch the fleeting light that makes the subject come alive.

Awards have been: Readers Digest Young Illustrator, Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians Award at the Royal Glasgow Institute, Willie Revie Award and other awards at open exhibitions.

Peter has also exhibited at: Royal Glasgow Institute, Paisley Art institute, Lemond Gallery, Annan Gallery, Strathearn Gallery, Whitehouse Gallery, Glasgow Gallery and McLaurin Gallery and other group shows; we are thrilled to represent him here in Edinburgh.
