Collection: Sandra Vick

Penicuik-based artist Sandra is a painter drawn to the deep human connection with landscape. Her work explores both the grounding and exhilarating qualities of open spaces — offering a sense of escape from the noise of modern life while inviting reflection and stillness.

Inspired by Scotland’s ancient hills and mountains, shaped by volcanic forces and glaciers, Sandra’s paintings capture the shifting light, expansive horizons and subtle textures of the land. Years of running and hiking have given her an intimate understanding of these environments, and this lived experience informs her practice. Her work conveys both a strong sense of place and a feeling of freedom — landscapes that are at once vast, enduring and quietly familiar.

Working in water-based oil paints, Sandra is drawn to their richness and depth while making conscious choices to reduce environmental impact.
