Collection: Kate Durdy
Kate Durdy is a mixed-media artist based in the Eden Valley, Cumbria, creating intricate collages that celebrate texture, colour, and the charm of everyday life. Drawing on a childhood filled with embroidery, patchwork, and knitting, Kate studied textiles at Edinburgh College of Art, where she developed a passion for haberdashery and handcraft.
Her early designs were published as stationery, cards, and gift wrap for brands including Paperchase, WHSmith, and Paper D’Art. Today, she focuses on unique, handcrafted pieces, combining hand stitching with collage, recycled materials, paint, buttons, sequins, and subtle sparkle. Inspired by daily routines, nature, and the landscapes of Cumbria, her work transforms ordinary moments into intricate, tactile artworks.
Kate also runs workshops, sharing her skills and encouraging participants to create their own distinctive pieces, combining creativity with hands-on techniques.
