Collection: Daniel Martin

Energetic and full of movement, Daniel’s skyscapes evoke the ethereal magic of the Scottish landscape he grew up in. Now based in Stirling, he works predominantly with oils.  His work is heavily inspired by the Scottish skies that he feels lucky to have been brought up with, and which have always had a special place in his heart. 

With each piece, Daniel aims to communicate his feelings and emotions and says that the often-dramatic skies symbolise the clutter and noise inside his head, and the calm waters below symbolise what's viewed by the beholder when even the calmest water can have an awful lot going on underneath.

“I work in water-based oil paints, drawn to their richness, while making conscious choices to reduce my impact on the environment.
